Drunk, stoned driver has loaded handgun
A 911 call to Bloomfield Township police at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 13, about a possible drunk driver in the area of Telegraph and Square Lake roads led to them discovering a drunk and high driver with a loaded, unregistered semi-automatic handgun in the car, as well. An officer in the area observed the suspected vehicle, which had been described as a yellow Dodge Challenger, cross over the lane dividers on the road several times before pulling it over and identified the lone female with her Michigan driver’s license. The driver, from Jackson, admitted to the officer that she had been drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana earlier in the evening. She then failed the roadside tests and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI). During a vehicle search, a loaded, unregistered semi-automatic handgun was found in the center console, which the driver did not have a valid concealed pistol license (CPL) for. She was charged with OWI and carrying a concealed pistol. Bloomfield Township police submitted a warrant request to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
