Disruptive shoppers skip out with goods
Five disruptive customers in the Bloomfield Township At Home store the evening of Tuesday, November 3, rode scooters throughout the store and then left with a bag full of merchandise they had not paid for. The store manager at At Home, 2100 S. Telegraph Road, informed township officers that five people had left the store around 9:30 p.m., and she believed one of them had taken store merchandise without paying for it. The manager described the behavior of the group to police as being disorderly. She said they were driving the store's mobility scooters recklessly throughout the store, and two of the individuals took beverages from the coolers near the cash registers and consumed them in the store before paying for them. Officers reviewed security cameras in the store which captured a female entering the store with a large brown leather bag which appeared empty. The cameras later showed her leaving the store with the bag full of stolen merchandise. Police reported that seven individuals were involved in the incidents. Bloomfield Township police investigators are continuing to review security cameras and the case is currently under investigation.
