$3,000 in cigarettes stolen from gas station

Police are investigating an October 18 theft of more than $3,000 worth of cigarettes from a Birmingham gas station in the 34000 block of Woodward Avenue.


Birmingham police said two women entered the Speedway gas station, 34800 Woodward, about 5:40 a.m. on Monday, October 18, in a ruse to steal thousands of dollars in cigarettes. Police said one of the women appeared to distract the store clerk while the other woman entered the office area and stole numerous cartons of cigarettes. Police said 366 packs of cigarettes were stolen.


The incident is under investigation.
