Adams Road resurfacing begins Monday, April 4

Adams Road between Long Lake and Square Lake roads, on the Bloomfield Township/Troy border, will resume resurfacing work on Monday, April 4, completing the work begun last summer, the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC), said.

Once work begins, Adams Road will be closed to southbound traffic, but open to northbound traffic. The detour for southbound traffic will be Square Lake Road to Coolidge Highway to Long Lake Road and back to Adams.

The road work is expected to be completed by the end of June.

The work had been anticipated to be completed in November 2021, but the contractor failed to meet the completion date, RCOC explained.

The road will also be closed in both directions to pedestrians during the work. The detour route for pedestrians during the work will be Adams Road to Long Lake Road to Squirrel Road and back to Adams Road and vice versa.

The project cost is $2.6 million. It is being paid for with a combination of federal funds and funding from RCOC and the city of Troy. The contractor for the project is Pro-Line Asphalt of Washington Township.
