On Thursday, July 2, at approximately 5 p.m., the Bloomfield Township Police Department was dispatched to Aldi, located at 1962 South Telegraph Road, for a retail fraud in progress.

Officers were advised that the suspect had pushed a shopping cart of unpaid groceries out of the front door of the store. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect or groceries, according to the police report.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium build, wearing dark pants, white t-shirt and a tan baseball cap with a red brim. The suspect stole five items, including Fritos, chicken breast, Tide pods and toilet paper totaling $64.65.

The case was turned over to the Bloomfield Township Investigations Unit and is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call Bloomfield Township at 248.433.7755.
