Almost $17,000 of liquor stolen from Kroger

A Kroger asset protection employee reported to the Birmingham Police Department on Wednesday, May 25, that the Kroger store at Woodward and Maple has had several larcenies involving alcohol from the store, totaling almost $17,000.


The Kroger asset protection employee came into the police department to make a larceny report, where he explained that from February 22, 2022 through May 10, 2022, there have been several larcenies involving alcohol from the store, located at 700 E. Maple Road. The employee believes the suspect is an employee of a third party contractor hired to do work at the Kroger store.


The estimated total of items stolen is $16,840.49.


Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
