Argument leads to arrest of man with warrant

After a victim reported an assault on Tuesday, August 1, around 12 p.m., a man from Detroit was arrested in Birmingham after police discovered an outstanding warrant.

Reports indicate that the victim, also from Detroit, was approached by the suspect in the intersection of Maple and Woodward who began yelling at him while holding a knife. There was no physical contact between the two men, according to police, and the suspect denied having a knife, alleging that the victim was the one who approached him.

Police searched the suspect’s person and found the knife in his pocket. They also discovered that the suspect had an outstanding warrant out of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated assault, and ended up arresting him.
