Arrest at gas station on outstanding warrant

Smoking at a gas station led to the arrest of a 22-year-old from Detroit by Birmingham police after it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant.

According to police, an employee at a gas station located on the 100 block of E. 14 Mile Road called about a customer smoking near a gas pump at 12 p.m. on Monday, August 7. The employee asked police to issue a trespassing warning but when the suspect provided his personal information to police, the officer found he had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation through the Warren Police Department.

The officer took the man into custody and turned him over to the Warren Police Department.
