Arrest made in March parental kidnapping

Bloomfield Township police have made an arrest in a parental kidnapping case dating from March of this year, following return of the minor child from another country.
According to police, on June 2 the Bloomfield Township Police Department was notified of a parental kidnapping. The reporting party last saw his minor child when his ex-wife, Keshia Williams-Alattar, a 39-year-old female from Bloomfield Township, had picked their child up from his home on March 23. After speaking with Williams-Alattar, the reporting party had reason to believe she had fled to the Republic of Benin with their child.
The reporting party had made multiple attempts to have Williams-Alattar bring their child back to the United States before reporting the matter to the police, according to the report.
The Bloomfield Township Police Department, through a joint investigation with the Department of State, located Williams-Alattar in the Republic of Benin. The Department of State worked with authorities from the Republic of Benin who had Williams-Alattar and their child placed on a flight back to the United States on June 3.
On June 4, 2026, the reporting party was reunited with his child at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Williams-Alattar then fled to an unknown location from the airport.
Police said this information was turned over to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office which authorized a charge of custodial interference, a one-year and one-day felony, for Williams-Alattar on October 15.
On October 28 detectives from the Bloomfield Township Police Department located Williams-Alattar and placed her under arrest. Williams-Alattar was arraigned the following day in 48th District Court and a bond of $100,000 cash or surety was issued.
