ArtBirmingham in Shain Park this weekend

Celebrating its 42d year in downtown Birmingham, the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC) and the Guild of Artists and Artisans (The Guild) invite shoppers and art enthusiasts to Shain Park for ArtBirmingham.

The highly regarded fine art fair will include approximately 150 jury-selected artists, featuring jewelry, ceramics, painting, glass, photography, fiber, and more. The event benefits the “Art for All” vision of the BBAC. In addition to the wide selection of high-quality artwork for sale, the fair includes live music, a children's art activity tent, and various food vendors making it a wonderful Mother’s Day tradition.

Surrounded by convenient parking for fairgoers and within easy access to the many unique stores and fabulous restaurants of downtown Birmingham, the event will showcase jury-selected artists in an elegant and extraordinary setting. This event, which is free for attendees, attracts approximately 80,000 fairgoers annually.

The art fair will feature many returning favorites, such as sculptor Laura Teste of Bloomfield; illustration and printmaking husband and wife duo Christina and Dennis Jacobs of Madison Heights; and featured artist-painter Randi Ford. New artists to check out include leather artists Dominique Hopf of Petoskey; and ceramicists Nancy and Joseph Grimsley of Remus.

ArtBirmingham will be free and open to the public on Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
