Assault reported at bar near Willits Street

Two men allegedly assaulted another man after he walked into a bar in the 100 block of Willits Street around 1 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, leading him to head to the police department to file a report.
The victim claimed he knew one of the men and had ongoing issues with him. He said as soon as he walked into the bar, the man hit his drink out of his hand and restrained him while a man he didn’t know punched him.
Birmingham police report an investigation is ongoing.
