Backpack stolen from car in grocery store lot

After leaving her car unlocked and unattended for about a half hour, a Birmingham woman’s backpack with her laptop inside had been stolen from the interior of her car.

The woman reportedly told Birmingham police officers that her car was parked in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store the morning of Wednesday, August 12, when the theft took place.

Birmingham police reported that, with the help of the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, the laptop was found and recovered, but it was unfortunately broken beyond repair. They also stated the backpack has yet to be found, but an investigation is ongoing.
