BBAC Holiday Shop returns as in-person event

The popular BBAC Holiday Shop, now in its 42d year, will open to shoppers for a unique one-of-a-kind shopping experience on Thursday, December 1, with the return of its Shop & Champagne Preview Party on Wednesday evening, November 30.

The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center's Holiday Shop is an annual, local pop-up shopping experience, where more than 3,000-square-feet of BBAC gallery space is transformed into a unique boutique offering one-of-a-kind, handmade gift items from more than 150 participating artists. The special Holiday Shop offers ceramics, jewelry, home goods and décor, fiber wearables, glassware, stationary and greeting cards, ornaments, Judaica, men’s gifts, baby and children’s items, the popular, “Mug Wall” and more. There is something for everyone, with items ranging from $5 to several hundred dollars.

As a special delight, after two years of pandemic hiatus, the BBAC Holiday Shop experience will once again this year kick-off with the Shop & Champagne preview party, now in its 19th year. The ticketed sneak peek event includes sparkling beverages, a gourmet strolling supper and shopping, as well as complimentary valet parking and a 10-percent discount on all Holiday Shop purchases made that evening.

The Shop & Champagne evening is November 30, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., with tickets available for $85 in advance and $125 at the door, if available. Then the Holiday Shop opens to the public on December 1 through December 20, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays –Saturdays; Noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays. The Holiday Shop is free and open to the public.
