Birmingham Art Walk coming next Thursday

Downtown Birmingham will once again come alive with art, live music and community spirit during the Birmingham Art Walk on Thursday, September 17, from 5–8 p.m.
The event is presented by the Birmingham Shopping District (BSD) in partnership with the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC) and the City of Birmingham Public Arts Board.
Visitors will be able to, at 21 local stores, meet talented artists, enjoy live performances, and discover special in-store promotions along the walkable downtown route.
“The Birmingham Art Walk is a wonderful opportunity not only to explore Birmingham’s distinctive shops and the area’s incredible artists, but also to create meaningful community connections,” said Erika Bassett, BSD Executive Director. “There’s something truly special about getting to know the individuals who shape the creativity and character of our city.”
This year’s Art Walk Passport experience offers attendees the opportunity to enjoy a night out and multiple chances to win prizes, including theater tickets at the Fisher Theatre, courtesy of ATG Detroit, presenting The Notebook.
One lucky winner will receive a $700 gift basket, including four theater tickets, gift cards to 220, and the BBAC gallery shop or exhibitions, and leather goods from Birmingham’s newest retailer, Portland Leather Goods, and more.
Participants can begin their Art Walk experience by picking up a Passport Brochure at any participating merchant or at the Birmingham Shopping District event table located at the northeast corner of Maple Road and Old Woodward Avenue (near CB2).
