The Birmingham Shopping District (BSD), in partnership with the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC) is hosting this free strolling event throughout downtown Birmingham. The event features over 20 participating businesses, including the Daxton Hotel, DiMaggio Exquisite Jewelry & Fine Art, dolce MODA, Ethan Allen, Fab’rik, Gazelle Sports, Jarbo, Lux Travel Girl, Planthropie, St. Croix Shop, Supernatural, TENDER, The Italian Dish, The Townsend Hotel, Union Barber, Untied on Woodward, Urban Wick Candle Bar, Viga Boutique, West Elm, WorkCo and more. Visit as many businesses as you wish, as they will each feature art work from unique and talented artists, special shopping promotions, light bites and drinks, and entertainment. As you stroll the event, enjoy beautiful acoustic favorites from musicians Maggi McCabe and Bob Skon.
“The Birmingham Art Walk event is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a special evening with friends while exploring local businesses and the works of talented artists” said Cristina Sheppard-Decius, BSD Executive Director.
“The fall is such a beautiful time of year in Birmingham and we are looking forward to this great event” said Marcus Turner, WorkCo design manager. “WorkCo will have light refreshments and desserts for visitors and Detroit based artist John Neary will be here to showcase his work. His installations deliver a peaceful and minimal aesthetic heavily influenced by a contemporary take on traditional Irish arts and culture.”
Specialty home décor shop, The Italian Dish, will host artist Daniel Cascardo, whose artwork ranges from whimsical subjects to more aesthetic and thought-provoking imagery. Fashion boutique dolce MODA will feature artist Jarrad Tacon-Heaslip, whose works combine his knowledge of architecture with his ongoing exploration of symmetry and color.
Several other local artists will have works on display throughout the event, including watercolor and printmaking artist Sherry Adams Foster, mixed-media painter Vasu Tolia, metalsmith Scott Brazeau and many more.
