Birmingham DPS open house Saturday, May 13

Get the kiddies and head to Birmingham's Department of Public Services (DPS) on Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as it hosts its annual open house.

The family favorite event showcases the DPS trucks and equipment, informational exhibits and complimentary grilled refreshments.

Climb aboard and get an up-close view of some of the heavy equipment used by Birmingham's public services professionals to keep the city’s infrastructure services running smoothly and its parks, forestry and grounds beautiful.

“Enjoy a fun day with your family, meet members of the DPS, engineering, police and fire departments, and learn more about the equipment and people that serve the Birmingham community,” said Scott Zielinski, DPS director.

Birmingham's DPS facility is located at 851 S. Eton Street. On-site parking will not be available, but visitors may park at the Birmingham Ice Sports Arena at 2300 E. Lincoln Street, or at available on-street parking.
