This Sunday, May 4, the Birmingham Farmers Market will open for its 23rd season in Public Parking Lot 6 at 660 N. Old Woodward Avenue in downtown Birmingham.
The popular Farmers Market will mark the new season with new events and activities with its annual Opening Day Celebration featuring live music, kids’ activities, food trucks and free reusable tote bags (while supplies last). The market is open every Sunday, May 4, through October 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A record number of vendors will be showcasing their goods this season at the Birmingham Farmers Market, which offers Michigan-grown produce, subject to local growing patterns. Hopefully by late spring, shoppers will find leafy greens, root vegetables, herbs, early organic vegetables, strawberries, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, beans, mushrooms, green onions, sugar peas and more.
There are also a number of special events planned for this season, which include; May 12, Second Sunday Fitness; June 9, Strawberry Jam-Boree; June 14, Second Sunday Fitness; July 14, Second Sunday Fitness; July 21, Super Farmer Sunday; August 11, Corn Festival and Second Sunday Fitness; September 8, Second Sunday Fitness; September 15, Harvest Festival; and October 27, End of Season Celebration.
Parking is free in downtown Birmingham on Sundays.
