Birmingham man scammed on social media app

A Birmingham man said he was scammed on a social media app on Thursday, October 24, after a woman he met on the app convinced him to invest in a fake crypto wallet.


The man told Birmingham police that after the woman, who is unidentified, convinced him to invest in the crypto wallet, he deposited funds but then tried to withdraw them.. He then discovered that the wallet was a scam.


Birmingham police said they are investigating.
