Birmingham resident’s name used for fake ID

A Birmingham resident who had previously been a victim of identity theft filed an identity theft report with the Birmingham Police Department on Wednesday, January 4, after she discovered her name, once again, had been used to create an ID with another person’s picture.

The victim, who lives in the 1200 block of Lyonhurst, previously had her identity stolen in 2019. She was advised to contact her credit bureau to make sure there was no suspicious activity. She told police that no such activity was found and was then advised to contact the police again if any suspicious activity occurs in the future.
