Birmingham resident sees two men in his garage
A Birmingham resident living in the 400 block of Puritan Avenue contacted police around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, after he opened his garage door and discovered two men in his garage, one who intimated he had a gun.
Officers spoke to a 57-year-old male resident, who said that when he opened his attached garage at 6:30 a.m., he witnessed two men in his garage. The first subject is described as a black male wearing black pants, a white tank top, black shoes and a black ski mask. The second subject is described as a black male wearing gray pants, a black t-shirt, yellow and black shoes and a black ski mask.
As the homeowner confronted them, the homeowner said the two men ran toward their vehicles carrying items from the homeowner's garage. One of the subjects threw several items at the homeowner, and the second male motioned his hands as if he was holding a gun. The homeowner was unable to determine if he had a weapon.
The suspects left the scene in two separate vehicles, one described as a light-colored SUV, the other a dark-colored SUV.
Birmingham police report there are no additional witnesses at this time, and an investigation is ongoing.
