The Bloomfield Township Police Department on Tuesday, February 10, responded to the 2900 block of Meadowood Lane for a possible home invasion.

The homeowner reported that at approximately 1:40 p.m. they received an alarm for the garage service door. The homeowner canceled the alarm with the alarm company prior to police dispatch.

When the homeowner arrived home at approximately 2:10 p.m., they found that the garage service door was forcibly opened. The door framed was cracked and the lock plate was located on the ground. A metal chair wedged between the door and a garage utility prevented the door from opening and no entry was made inside the home.

Evidence technicians processed the scene and collected evidence. The case is currently under investigation by the Bloomfield Township Police Investigations Unit.
