Bloomfield Township residents die in home fire
Despite efforts by the Bloomfield Township Fire Department, two residents living in the 200 block of N. Williamsbury Road who had been trapped in their home during a fire died on Wednesday, September 8.
Around 7:38 a.m., Bloomfield Township Fire Department responded to the report of a residential fire, where the first arriving units reported smoke and that flames were visible from the back of the house, reported Bloomfield Township Fire Chief John LeRoy. They were advised by neighbors that the residents may be trapped in the home.
LeRoy reported fire crews immediately entered the home, performed search operations and located two residents inside the home. The residents were removed from the home, treated and immediately transported to William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak.
“Despite the efforts of medical personnel, both residents succumbed to their injuries,” LeRoy said in a release.
The fire is currently under investigation by the Bloomfield Township Fire Department, Bloomfield Township Police Department and Oakland County Sheriff Department Fire Investigation Division.
