Bobcat skid steer stolen from bank parking lot

Birmingham police on Monday, April 11, responded to a complaint of a skid steer construction vehicle stolen from a parking lot at Comerica Bank, 33200 Woodward Avenue, in Birmingham.

Police said the victim told officers his company’s Bobcat S70 skid steer was used on Friday, April 8, and then left in the parking lot, but was missing on Monday morning.

Witnesses told police a white male with red hair and a medium build was seen driving the skid steer out of the parking lot on Sunday morning, April 10. The man, who was wearing a blue sweater and construction hat, drove the steer onto a U-Haul trailer attached to a vehicle parked on Bird Avenue.

Police located a video in the area of the theft and were able to identify the vehicle.

Officers subsequently arrested a 36-year-old Birmingham man who was allegedly in possession of the stolen equipment.
