Booth Park family movie nights return Friday

The popular summer movie night series, sponsored by the Birmingham Shopping District (BSD), returns to Booth Park beginning Friday, June 7, with the presentation of Migration.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and find a cozy spot at the park to enjoy family-friendly favorites on the giant LED screen. Pre-show entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. and movies start at 7:30 p.m.

Movie Nights are free and include sponsor displays with complimentary treats and giveaways (while supplies last).

“We are looking forward to this year’s movie nights as they draw hundreds of families into downtown Birmingham for a fun evening in the park. We have a great mix of movies that are sure to be loved by attendees of all ages. Don’t forget to grab something from one of our local restaurants to bring with you for a picnic dinner on the hill before the movie starts,” said Jaimi Brook, operations and events manager for the BSD.

The feature presentation on Friday, July 19, is The Muppets Christmas Carol. Then, for the presentations on Friday, August 9, and Friday, September 6, it will be the public's choice. Starting June 1, visit engage.bhamgov.org/ to vote. Voting is open through June 30.

Booth Park is located on the west side of North Old Woodward Avenue, south of Harmon Street in Birmingham.

In the event of inclement weather, movie nights will be held the following day (Saturday).
