After parking her car in the Peabody Street parking garage in Birmingham early on Tuesday, October 21, a Bloomfield Hills woman returned from work to find her car missing.

The woman told Birmingham police officers that she parked her car on the lower level of the garage around 5 a.m. to go into work, leaving her keys inside the car at the time. When she came back out, the car was no longer where she parked, but it was later found on the second floor of the garage by Birmingham police.

Birmingham police reported that witnesses saw a man get into the car, drive it to the second floor and park it, but the report does not indicate if anything was missing from the car.

Birmingham police stated that they had multiple interactions with a suspect, a Pontiac man, due to prior trespass warnings from Birmingham businesses. They reported he was placed under arrest, and an investigation is ongoing.
