Birmingham police are reportedly investigating a car theft that resulted in an injured suspect after he allegedly got into a collision with another car.

Police reported that they got a call the night of Friday, August 14, by the car owner saying someone was inside the car that was parked in his driveway in the 300 block of Puritan. Officers initially found the car and suspect speeding near W. Lincoln and Henrietta, but they were unable to stop him after trying to pull him over.

The driver later crashed the car into another car, injuring his leg. Birmingham police reported that the driver claimed another person was in the car with him, but they were not able to find the person in the area.
