While out of town on the night of Thursday, August 14, a Birmingham resident’s car was stolen from his driveway on the 1000 block of Birmingham Blvd. overnight after his nephew used it and left the key fob inside.

The nephew reported the theft to Birmingham police the next morning after he noticed the car missing around 5 a.m. He reported using the car to drive into downtown Birmingham the day before, and believes he left the keys inside.

Birmingham police say an investigation is ongoing.
