Car stolen from Stanley during middle of day

A car which was stolen from the 500 block of Stanley between 2:25 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, is believed to be related to several other car thefts in Birmingham which Birmingham police are investigating.

A 43-year-old male resident contacted Birmingham police the evening of Wednesday, June 8, to report a stolen vehicle. The man said he had last seen the vehicle in his driveway at 2:25 p.m., and then noticed it was missing at 3:30 p.m. He could not locate the keys, and did not recall if the vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside at the time it was stolen.

Officers said there were no sign of forced entry in the driveway.

A witness reported observing a vehicle matching the stolen vehicle's description traveling along Stanley at 2:45 p.m.

Birmingham police report there are no suspects at this time, and believe this incident is related to several other auto thefts in the area.

A police investigation is ongoing.
