Car window smashed in city parking garage

The back driver-side window of an SUV was broken on Monday, August 7, while parked in the Pierce Street parking structure in Birmingham.

According to the victim, the damage appeared to have taken place sometime after 9 a.m. When police took a look at the car, they also found that the carpet under the dashboard had been pulled back, which they said was an attempt to get into the vehicle's wiring.

The victim reported that nothing was actually missing from the vehicle. Birmingham police said an investigation is ongoing.
