Children's clothing stolen by shoplifter

:

According to the owner of Lil' Rascals, a children's store in downtown Birmingham, a woman stole $306 worth of items by stuffing them in her purse and left the shop without paying on Friday, July 21.

An employee at Lil' Rascals, 580 N. Old Woodward, called police, who arrived around 6 p.m. The employee said that a female around 30-years-old entered the store and looked at various pieces of children's clothing, and then left the business.

According to police and reports by store owner Serena Chammout, the suspect was seen by witnesses to have put the multiple pieces of clothing in her purse before exiting the store.

Birmingham police report the investigation is ongoing.
