Jewelry and other items in a Birmingham home worth roughly $30,000 were reportedly stolen from a home on the 700 block of S. Glenhurst Drive during a Tuesday, October 14, home invasion.

The home residents reported the theft to Birmingham police, saying that around 12 p.m. someone came into the house and stole their belongings. Birmingham officers reported no signs of forced entry, and the residents confirmed that they typically leave some of the doors unlocked.

The police department reports an investigation is ongoing.
