City panhandler arrested on drug warrant

:

While allegedly panhandling with another individual at the intersection of Quarton and Woodward Avenue late at night on Thursday, January 16, a Pontiac woman was arrested by Birmingham police on a felony warrant out of Ferndale.

Birmingham police initially arrived at the intersection after receiving a call for a welfare check. The Pontiac woman and another individual were ‘panhandling’ outside in extreme winter weather. When they got there, they found out that the woman had a felony warrant out of Ferndale for various drug charges.

According to Birmingham police, she was arrested and transferred to the custody of the Ferndale Police Department.
