City yoga studio clients robbed during class

:

Four students of a yoga studio located at the 500 block of S. Old Woodward in Birmingham were robbed during a class on Wednesday, August 23, around 1 p.m. after two suspects pretended to be members of the class.

According to the receptionist at Community Yoga Studio, 555 S. Old Woodward, two new people came in around the time the class was supposed to start and were given yoga mats. The receptionist said she left the studio afterward, but the guests reportedly never went into the class and were gone before the class finished.

Four of the yoga students said they found their phones, IDs, cash and credit cards missing when they went back to their cubbies. Birmingham police reported that two of the stolen credit cards were later used for purchases at Somerset Mall, for purchases totaling over $20,000.

Luckily, several of the other items that were stolen were found near the studio. Police said an investigation is currently underway.
