Construction worker critical from traffic crash

A 24-year-old construction worker is in critical condition after a traffic crash on Sunday, November 19.

The incident happened in the construction zone on W. Long Lake Road near Kirkway Road in Bloomfield Township that afternoon. It involved the construction worker, a Novi resident, as well as a 2022 Range Rover being driven by an 81-year-old West Bloomfield resident, who remained at the scene after the construction worker was rushed to Trinity Health Oakland by Bloomfield Township Fire Department.

Bloomfield Township police are still investigating the case, and do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The South Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) was also called to the scene to assist with the investigation.

Those with any information who witnessed the crash are encouraged to call the Bloomfield Township Police Department’s Traffic Division at 248.433.7755.
