Corvette stolen from dealership found in Detroit

Bloomfield Township police on Monday, June 1, responded to Mercedes Benz located at 36600 Woodward Avenue for a report of a stolen Chevrolet Corvette., which was days later found in Detroit.

The black 2018 Corvette Z06 was owned by Mercedes Benz and listed for sale by the dealership. Video surveillance showed the Corvette’s front lights flashing at 12:28 a.m. that morning. The Corvette left the parking lot heading northbound on Woodward Avenue, according to police.

The dealership was in possession of both sets of keys for the vehicle at the time of the theft. Officers took the report and entered the vehicle as “stolen.”.

On June 4, at approximately 4:45 a.m., the Bloomfield Township Police Department was notified by the Detroit Police Department that the Corvette had been located within their city limits. Detectives responded to the area and recovered the stolen Corvette.

The case remains under investigation, police said.
