Crack cocaine found in car during traffic stop

:

Bloomfield Township police found a bag of crack cocaine, a glass pipe, and other paraphernalia, during a traffic stop in the area of Telegraph and Long Lake roads the afternoon of Friday, August 11.

The driver was originally pulled over for a red light violation, and when officers were speaking with the driver, they noticed the baggie in plain view on the passenger seat, appearing to be a narcotic drug.

Police determined it was crack cocaine upon closer look at the contents and the driver was arrested for possession of the drug. After an arrest was made, the vehicle was searched, which is when officers found the other paraphernalia.

The driver was then processed and booked at the Bloomfield Township Police Department. The found drugs were packaged as evidence and then sent to the lab for confirmation of the contents.

Pending lab results, the driver was released from custody.
