A thief broke into Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2300 E. 14 Mile Road in Birmingham, and stole several items, including a credit card, which someone attempted to use.
Birmingham police were notified around 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, by the pastor of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, who informed officers that when staffed arrived that morning, they noticed the receptionist's desk appeared abnormal, with drawers open and the chair pushed aside. Upon checking the office, they realized several items were missing.
The bookkeeper then received a notification from the credit card company that several attempts had been made to use the credit card.
Police determined there was no sign of forced entry. They have no witnesses or suspects at this time.
An investigation is ongoing.
