Credit cards, cash taken from dropped wallet

After dropping her wallet at a grocery store on the 600 block of E. Maple Road in Birmingham on Friday, August 18, a Royal Oak woman realized it was missing and later caught a man and woman holding it.

The woman told Birmingham police she began looking for her missing wallet, and then discovered the couple holding her wallet. They allegedly turned it in to the store after finding it on the floor of the store. After getting her wallet back, the man and woman left the grocery store.

The victim reported to Birmingham police that multiple credit cards, insurance cards and a small amount of cash were missing from her wallet.

Birmingham police said an investigation is ongoing.
