Delivered package emptied of goods

A Birmingham resident was disappointed when he received his package on Tuesday, July 18, only to discover the contents of the package had been stolen.


Around 9 a.m., a police officer was dispatched the the home in the 900 block of Westchester Way, where the victim, a 65-year-old resident, reported that a package that had been delivered to his home had been marked delivered in the delivery app, but the box was cut open and the contents removed. He said the contents of the package were valued at $29.


Birmingham police report there are no witnesses or suspects at this time, and an investigation is ongoing.
