Detroit man arrested for attempted larceny

A resident of Detroit was arrested by Birmingham police on Monday, November 13, around 2 p.m., after witnesses reported a suspicious man pulling on the door handles of cars.


According to police, officers showed up to a parking lot behind the Kroger store on the 600 block of E. Maple Road and Woodward Avenue after receiving a report of a suspicious man. When police found the man, he admitted to pulling on the handles to find an unlocked car with food inside he could take.


Birmingham police report that he was arrested and charged with attempted larceny from a vehicle.
