After stealing merchandise from a retail store at the 100 block of S. Old Woodward in Birmingham, two 17-year-old girls from Detroit were arrested on Wednesday, November 12, later being released to their guardians.

Birmingham police reported that they received a report saying the two girls were putting merchandise inside their purses, and when the girls left the store without paying, officers were there to stop them.

An investigation is ongoing, Birmingham police reports.
