Diaper caper ends with Holly man’s arrest

Birmingham police officers on patrol in the 600 block of Maple in Birmingham on Saturday, August 31, around 7 p.m. noticed a 48-year-old male suspect from Holly acting suspicious while carrying a box of diapers.

When the officers attempted to make contact with the man, he dropped the diapers and fled. After a foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested and it was discovered he had warrants out from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department. The suspect admitted to stealing food and diapers from a nearby grocery store, which were valued at nearly $95.

The suspect was later transferred to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
