Dog bites Birmingham man while on walk

A 61-year-old Birmingham man was bitten by a dog while walking in the 400 block of Vinewood on Saturday, December 19, police said.

Birmingham police responded about 10:39 a.m. to the area where the victim said a dog ran out the front of a nearby residence and bit him on the leg. The man had two puncture marks and bruising from the bite.

Police said the dog’s owner was very apologetic and advised the canine was up to date on all its vaccinations and registered with the city, which officers confirmed.

The owner was issued a citation and advised to quarantine the dog for 10 days.
