Driver arrested on warrant during traffic stop

An Oak Park woman driving through Birmingham the morning of Friday, August 7, was stopped for speeding and ultimately arrested after city police officers found she had an outstanding warrant from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Birmingham police reported that the woman was stopped after an officer caught her driving 60 mph in a 40 mph area while going north on Woodward near Wimbleton. The officer later found the outstanding warrant after checking her information.
Birmingham police said the woman was cited for speeding, then arrested and transferred to the custody of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
