While driving in Birmingham the night of Thursday, January 15, a Clinton Township man was stopped by police officers for a traffic violation, only to be later arrested on an open felony warrant.

According to the police report, the man admitted to the warrant for felony assault with a dangerous weapon out of Saginaw County, and the officers took him into custody after verifying the warrant was open. They state the Thomas Township police officers would pick the man up in the morning to transfer custody.

Unrelated to the warrant, the man was given a citation for marijuana possession after Birmingham officers found it while searching his car.
