Driver of pickup injured in township crash

The driver of a pickup truck was injured on Wednesday, February 24, while outside of his vehicle on I-75 near Square Lake Road, Bloomfield Township police said.

Bloomfield Township police said the man stopped on the side of the freeway shortly before 12:22 p.m. in order to close the tailgate on his truck. While outside, he and the truck were struck by a black 2005 Chrysler Town and Country minivan headed south on I-75.

Members of the Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene.

The driver of the truck was transported to Royal Oak Beaumont with unspecified injuries. The driver of the van were also taken to the hospital for “precautionary evaluation,” police said.
