Driver runs from Smart Bus shelter crash

Birmingham police cited a 25-year-old Warren man for leaving the scene of a property damage accident in the early morning hours of Monday, October 19, after failing to stop after hitting the Smart Bus shelter and several signs at East Maple and Coolidge Highway.

The report stated that Birmingham officers met with Troy officers at the scene to learn that Troy police had stopped the man at a gas station further east. He said he lost control of his car while driving eastbound and didn’t realize he was supposed to call the police after striking objects.
