Around midnight on Saturday, June 14, three cars were involved in an accident at the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Maple in Birmingham after a driver ran a red traffic light and clipped two other cars.

The two other drivers involved in the crash stated they were driving across Woodward when they were hit by the car traveling south on Woodward. Witnesses saw the driver run the red light then flee from the scene after the car ended up in the median.

The driver was eventually found close to the scene and cited for both disobeying a traffic signal and failing to stop and identify a personal injury accident.

Birmingham police report that none of the drivers were injured but all three cars were totaled and towed.
