A heavily intoxicated man from Troy was arrested in Birmingham the night of Tuesday, January 20, after he was found inside the driver’s seat of a car that didn’t belong to him.

Per the police report, a woman from Ferndale, who owned the car, had parked it on the 100 block of W. Maple and went into a nearby restaurant for dinner. When she came back to the car, she saw the man sitting in her driver’s seat and said he refused to get out, thinking the car was his Uber.

Birmingham police officers reported they were able to get him out of the car and place him under arrest for attempted auto theft, disorderly conduct, resisting an officer and obstruction.
