Drunks assault two outside Market North End
Two men were assaulted outside of a Birmingham restaurant on Sunday, March 21, after refusing to give two strangers a ride to a downtown bar, police said.
Birmingham police said the men, both 28, were at Market North End, 474 N. Old Woodward, about 7:52 p.m. when two inebriated men approached them asking for a ride to 220 Merrill. Police said one of the victims jokingly offered to drive them for $100; however, when one of the drunk men attempted to pay, he refused.
The victims then left the restaurant and were assaulted outside by one of the men. The drunk men then left the area in a black vehicle with two females.
The victim received cuts and bruises to his face and neck, hand and arm. He refused medical treatment.
The case is under investigation.
